the situation
The long-time CEO of the EDC in the fastest growing region in the state of Missouri was retiring. A new CEO was appointed with big shoes to fill, right as the COVID-19 pandemic started. With some staff changes and funding uncertainty, the agency needed a partner to up their communications game quickly and consistently, step in until they could hire in-house help, and and maintain momentum through the pandemic.
the strategy
Kolbeco began our work with the EDC by developing a deep understanding of the new CEO’s vision. We crafted a communications plan that would help the EDC effectively deliver their message to the community and various stakeholders. We also helped them develop and deliver a strategy for effectively and clearly communicating the agency’s impact through milestones the prior year.
the tactics
Kolbeco’s plan for the EDC was designed to capture and amplify the energy and excitement the new CEO brought to his position, the organization, and the community as a whole. We used the following tactics in the execution of their plan:
BRAND STANDARDS GUIDE
to ensure consistency
ORGANIC SOCIAL MEDIA
to communicate wins and progress
PROACTIVE PUBLIC RELATIONS
to highlight accomplishments and events
DIGITAL MARKETING
to ensure the right messages were seen by the right people
GRAPHIC DESIGN
to captivate and capture attention
BROCHURE AND COLLATERAL DESIGN AND FULFILLMENT
to put their message in the hands of their audience
the results
Through our efforts on social media, we were able to grow engagement by 9,100% over previous performance. Link clicks from social media (a primary objective) also increased 5,100%. We helped them better tell their story to the people and businesses it impacted. We also helped them stabilize their marketing efforts so they could realize their goal of hiring a dedicated in-house marketing person and move forward with confidence and consistency.
