January 08, 2009 Kolbeco congratulates long-time Marketing and PR client Amie Riggs on being selected one of only 12 Young Leaders in Remodeling in the US. Amie is Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Riggs Construction and Design in Kirkwood, MO, and represents the third generation of the Riggs family to lead the company.
The recognition, given by industry magazine Professional Remodeler, awards individuals under 40 who are shaping the future of the remodeling industry. Amie was selected for her innovation and for her award winning sales and marketing initiatives that boosted sales by 20%. The campaign, themed “Yes I Can!”, was launched in 2006 by Riggs and Kolbeco, and has garnered awards and national attention for the approach to the market and the tactics implemented. “Yes I Can!” won the 2007 Small Business Marketing Excellence Award from the American Marketing Association.
The Young Leaders are featured in the January, 2009 issue of Professional Remodeler. In the feature, Amie discusses her outlook for the future of the industry, challenges and opportunities. The full feature can be found online through the Professional Remodeler website.
Kolbeco Owner Lauren Kolbe says of Amie Riggs:
“I’ve known Amy Riggs for a very long time. I’ve watched her develop her career from the very early stages, and she’s accomplished a lot in a very short time. She began working for the family business at the age of 20 as an office assistant. She wasn’t intimidated by the male-dominated view of her industry. She didn’t just go to work everyday, she got involved in everything. She played to her strengths, learned all aspects of the business and took on new responsibilities. She studied the business and found ways to improve upon it. She created new procedures that gained her national recognition in the industry. She put systems, plans and strategies in place to position her company for future growth. She became a leader because she behaved like one. She is rambunctious, fun to be around and a natural leader. People look to her for answers. She did all of this as a young wife and mother. She is a leader because she behaves like one each day. ”
Congratulations, Amie, and the entire 2009 Class of Young Leaders.
